Wait, what? Don’t most sites have an “about me” page? Well, yeah. And I’ve got that, too. But here’s a secret: the pictures I take? They’re not about me. They’re about you.

So we’re going to talk about you for a minute. You know that it’s important to have photos taken with something other than your phone. But maybe you’re not sure where to start. So let’s talk about what you need.

Maybe you’re pregnant. Congratulations! Is it your first? It’s so magical, right? Okay, maybe not. The throwing up, the constant peeing, the always eating or never eating, the dancing on your pelvis, the trying-to-roll-over-in-bed-and-taking-all-the-blankets-with-you. But in spite of all that, it really is a magical time in life, and it’s so fleeting. In truth, it’s easy to forget pregnancy and delivery. I think it’s a repression thing. Have you seen the movie  The Family Stone? It’s one of my favorites. It’s actually the reason I had my own maternity photos done. I regret that I was unable to do so while pregnant with my first (she was born prematurely), but I made sure I didn’t miss it with my second. Fact: “pregnancy glow” is a real thing. Like, a medical thing. Your body’s blood flow increases while pregnant, causing your skin to look naturally rosier. Maternity photos are unique, in that they will be admired by generations of women in your family, for years and years to come, perhaps more than any other one type of image.




Maybe you’re a junior in high school. You’ve got friends graduating this year, and you can't wait to rule the school. One of the perks of being a senior is, of course, senior pictures!! Have you ever had a real photo shoot of just you? I know I hadn’t when I was a senior. Let me tell you – from my experience, it’s both awesome, and awkward. But that’s okay. I’ll worry about the awkward, so that it can just be awesome for you. Together, we’ll create images that you (and the ‘rents) will still love in ten years.







Maybe you’re the head of the family. It’s time to think about sending cards out at the end of the year. Or maybe you’re just a really plan-ahead kind of person. There’s a place that your family frequents, sometimes to play, sometimes to walk, maybe even for a picnic. In any case, it’s a special place to all of you. And it’s beautiful, to boot! But dressing your family for photos is stressful, right? Everyone has green, except the baby. No one has yellow except you and your spouse. The boys just want to wear raggedy jeans, and the girls just want dress-up clothes. I get it. We’ll work together to find ideas for dressing the whole family, and then – before they can mess us their hair(s) – we’ll go to your special place. In the end, your photos will look as perfect as your memories do.

Maybe you’re a local professional. A model, an actor, a singer, or something else.
